Our 5th grade students have been working like mad to prepare for their Stop Animation projects. We just finished up making flipbooks to work with simple animation techniques. We are now moving into stop animation. Students are able to use either clay or Lego pieces to assemble their ideas. They had to script out their ideas first. We have talked about the small details, patience, and casting a critical eye to their projects to make them look good. They have spend the last couple class periods building their backdrops and characters. The last class period we began snapping pictures. It will take at least 8 pictures for one second of animation. As we continue to take pictures I took some pictures of their creations to show here on the wiki. I will post their final projects here when ready. We will load and use computer software to bridge the photos all together.

Here is a little taste of their ideas.
